Thread Lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure wherein biocompatable and biodegradable temporary threads are inserted beneath the skin to produce a subtle but visible "lift" and tightening in the skin.
The mechanism of thread lift is such that; the cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist simply suspends the loose facial skin by stitching up portions of it, so it effectively pulls the skin back slightly thus lifting and tightening the face.
The other mechanism by which threads work is by stimulating the body's healing response causing in increased collagen synthesis which results in gradual improvement in skin's tone and firmness and imparting a more youthful look.
A thread lift procedure is not painful as local anaesthetics are usually injected around puncture sites or a numbing cream is applied 20 mins prior to the procedure.
Complications are uncommon after thread lift and may include :
Results of a threadlift will usually last from one to three years as threads get dissolved and absorbed in the body over time.
